We know how daunting renovating your home can be. There are so many decisions to make and so many unknowns. That’s why every project that we undertake follows a comprehensive process designed to keep you informed and reassured every step of the way.
We like to kick things off with a face-to-face chat, ideally at the project location so that we can get a sense of your space. This free consultation usually takes about an hour, and gives both of us the chance to get to know each other and ask important questions. We’ll talk through your vision, what you want to achieve, how you see yourself using the space, and any future plans you might have. We’ll also take you through our building process so that you know what to expect, and feel comfortable with how the project will run.
DESIGN AND APPROVALS:
Before we can start building, we need a set of plans to work off. If you’d like some help with this, we can connect you with a local, trusted draftsperson or architect that suits your needs. We like to work together with you and the designer/architect from the start of the process, to make sure we’re all on the same page and that the design works for your budget. If you already have plans that you’re happy with – or if it’s a very straightforward project – we can sit down straight away and talk through the plans, and what it is you want to achieve.
Most importantly, we’ll use this time to advise you of the best solutions for your project within your budget – there’s nothing worse than being surprised by unexpected costs.
ESTIMATES, CONTRACTS AND PLANNING:
Once everyone is happy with the plans, we’ll organise another site visit to double check that nothing’s been missed. Then, you’ll receive a detailed price breakdown and a project timeline so you know exactly how much the project will cost, and when it will be completed. We’ll also talk through what kind of finishes, fittings and products you’ll need, so this is all ready for the builders when they start work (if you’d like help picking these things out, we can recommend an interior designer or decorator to lend a hand.)
This is where we start to turn your vision into reality. During the build, you’ll have one site manager who’ll be 100% dedicated to your project. He’ll keep you updated on the progress with weekly site meetings – and if any variations of your finishes or fittings arrive, we’ll track these carefully and keep you in the loop.
HANDOVER AND AFTERCARE:
Our job doesn’t stop when we hand over the keys. We’ll take you on a final walkthrough of the project, and give you a detailed breakdown of your finishes, colours, brands, warranties and certificates. Once you’re settled in your new home, we go above and beyond to ensure you’re completely satisfied, with a check in at three months and twelve months to make sure you’re still completely satisfied. And, of course, if you have any questions or concerns outside of these times, we’re always here to help.
